The remodeling shoes are made with the same “universal polymer insert” that enabled our other universal shoes to fit either 1/2” or 9/16” effectively. Since they fit both sizes, you just need to keep one size in stock. The Remodel Shoes are available in all five powder coated finishes, but their true value is in remodeling installations involving the removal of large size wooden balusters. Their footprint is a full 2” width which allows you to cover even 1-3/4” of previous baluster scars on the treads.
